Stay Safe!!

Hello to all my friends all over the world. I am just writing this post to everyone who is suffering with the weather.I just want you to know you have my sympathy. Over here in England the scenery is a bit like this:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Since before Christmas the gale force winds and storms have steadily moved around the country causing mayhem.  There has been a lot of flooding, storm damage and just a general gloomy January but....

Watching the news, we in this country can't fail to sympathize with our friends across the Pond who are dealing with a visit  from the North Pole snow fall.

Now I know this is a lovely snowy scene and in reality things are much worse but I just want to say that I hope you can all stay safe and warm. It is difficult for us to imagine as our snowfall is generally light, but John and I want you to know we are thinking about you and hope that this doesn't last long. He also says that our gales came from you and can you please not send this to us as well!!!

Let us all hope that soon we will be seeing this:

I don't know where all of you are but I am fairly certain that some of my friends are suffering at the minute and  I wish you well. Stay warm.

Love Jan.xxx

  6. Thanks Jan! I am one of those in the DEEP FREEZE. It is bitter here. Not only is EVERY school closed, so many businesses have closed as well

Speaking with my Scotsman's family I heard about some of your rainy gale force winds too! Stay warm!

    1. Hi Minelle, maybe you need to use some of that cinnamon oil to warm up with ;). We are on the East Coast, no where near Scotland either. I feel for you, just snuggle up and enjoy the time off school

  7. Hi, Jan,

It's absolutely beautiful here with the snow covering everything. It's also very treacherous with the extreme cold and icy road conditions. The wind was wicked the past couple days as our wind chill temperatures for so dangerously low. I just received a call that our school will be closed again tomorrow due to weather and road conditions. Buses cannot navigate the back country roads, and town kids who walk to school - well, anybody actually - should not be outside more than a few minutes due to the danger of severe frostbite. Remarkably, our temp has gone up considerably from what it was the past two days, but it is still hard to breathe in that cold air for very long. Still, I'll keep my snow as long as it lasts. I love it!

Thank you for all your concern for us, and for those photos - they are beautiful! It's so nice to know we all are looking out for each other and thinking good thoughts. Warm hugs to everybody experiencing the winter chill! :-)

    1. Hi Irishey, Oh my stars I am glad you are sort of enjoying it! I must admit I always used to love any day the kids were off school, It was always a special day for us to cosy up together. I do feel for everyone in America though. You have all been making me laugh on subs, keep your spirits up

  8. Stay warm and safe over there, Jan. We're cold here but safe. NPR has some sad stories this morning about homeless in the cold. So sad.

  9. Thanks Jan...The temp this morning was -11F (-24C) with a wind chill of -30F (-35C) so all of our schools are closed also. The winds have blown part of my driveway clear of snow but then I have deep drifts up near the house! Am trying to stay in and stay warm...heating bills next month are going to be challenging but at least I am fortunate enough to have a home to heat!

Hope the weather is calming for you. Sending positive energy to all that we stay safe and warm!

    Blessings...

    2. I suppose the real issue is that those 'South of the Border' are not equipped to deal with the massive amounts of snow and cold. Where we live, the area of my province, not the entire thing the temperatures are not an issue. NOT because it isn't cold but because we are used to it. All our winter gear is rated to - 30 C. In fact the kids only stay indoors for recess if it gets to that temperature.

As amusing as we find it and like to tease, we know it is a serious issue for those who don't have homes. Police around here have been rounding up those who haven't found their ways to shelters.

Funny, we always say we are grateful for where we live. Because to us it is merely snow and cold. Two things that can basically be predicted. Unlike tornados and earthquakes.

Stay warm to those who need too!
