A Spanking A Day.......

Hello everyone,

This post is merely an expression of my joys and woes. please feel free to come back on a more entertaining day. I am sure there will be one eventually.

Now I am not a pessimist ( truly, my cup is plenty full) but really is there no point at which life suddenly becomes a jolly nice adventure instead of an endurance race? I swear I am getting too old for the bad bits.

For the past forty years ( yes I did say that and I bet some of you aren't even that old :), I have been caring for a bonkers parent. She has so many mental issues that if I wrote it all down you would think I was the bonkers one. Hmm....

Her health has deteriorated to the stage that she needs to be in a nursing home. I am on the verge of a breakthrough, I have found a lovely one prepared to take her on and She is nearly prepared to go. I do have a plus, sort of, because today I found out that I have to go in Hospital next week for a big old operation :( and without me she cannot stay where she is, living in abject misery.

I am a struggling, wobbly mess...

However I do have a secret weapon in my life and he has worked out a way to help me through each day.

His trusty method varies.....
Sometimes it is

Sometimes it is

Yummy!
and very often it is just the most perfect

All our spankings at the moment are for fun, there is a bit of do as you are told there but I have giggled at least once a day!!

Hubby has stepped up just when I need him too, He is not letting me get away with much and is keeping a tight control over my interactions with my mother. Several times he has removed me from the situation, and I feel so grateful that we brought ttwd into our lives, as it has given him a way to  lead and a way for me to follow.

He is determined that after my hysterectomy I am not returning to the situation as it is. He is retiring and we are determined to focus that on each other.

I feel guilty, which is my mother's greatest aim actually. Her skill at emotional blackmail and control would win medals at the Olympics if it were an event.  I am hoping that the staff at the nursing home will be able to get through to  her. At least she will be cared for day and  night, I have my fingers crossed for some happiness for her.

On a very nice note son number two has asked his dad to be his best man. Aw, He said some really lovely things to his dad and this is an event we are all looking forward to even though it is a way off yet.

Maybe life is good after all. :)

And Grandbaby said da da da today. Yay!!

Hope you are all having a good week,
much love

Rosie's come to Play!I

Hello everyone,

Today my lovely friend Rosie is guesting on my blog because Ella's meme was just too irresistible to miss. So here she goes.

1.You have to leave your house because of a disaster. All the people and pets you love are safe. If you could choose just one item to carry out what it would be?

Marmaduke, the Teddy Bear my mother gave me when I was five months old. Most of his fur has been loved off and the straw stuffing is coming out of one paw because I sucked it instead of my thumb. I never allowed my daughters to play with him, I bought them their own Teddies.

2. Tell us about a book or series of books you loved as a child.

I devoured the Famous Five and the Secret Seven books by Enid Blyton.  Also the Milly Molly Mandy books. I don't remember who wrote those.

3. Name one item of clothing you love your spouse to wear.

Black Tie, without a doubt. The whole outfit, not just the tie! Okay that's cheating but he looks yummy.

4. Is there a lullaby your mum or dad sang to you that you also sang to your children?

I don't ever recall being sung to. I didn't sing to my girls as I am tone deaf, but I did read stories to them.

5. Tell us about the fanciest restaurant at which you have ever dined.

Harry took me to Raymond Blanc's Michelin starred Le Manoir aux Quatre Saisons for a Birthday lunch three years ago. I dressed up to the nines in posh frock and  heels and persuaded Harry to wear a suit and tie. We stuck out like a sore thumb. The gentry were all casually dressed, to the extent that some of them looked like they had spent the morning gardening and hadn't bothered to get changed for lunch. The food, all seven courses, was exquisite.

6. Tell us about any phobias you have. What else are you scared of?

I hate snow. If I wake up to that light that only snow produces, I'm off to the bathroom to throw up. I have never built a snow man or (shudder) laid down in it to make snow angels. I sometimes have to drive in it, of necessity, but I am a nervous wreck till I am back indoors.

7. Is there something old from a family member that you treasure?

I have my Great Grandmother's rose gold wedding ring and a thimble and lace handkerchief that belonged to my beloved Nanna.

If there is reading material in your bathroom, what magazines or books could be found?

None, I have a print of Picasso's Blue Nude on the wall though.

9.Tell us about your dearest childhood friend.

I was a rather solitary child and never had a "special" friend. I was in a small gang called "the Devil Girls" when I was eight or nine. I don't remember where the name came from. I, for one, was an angel.

10. Is there a household task that belongs to your husband?

Harry is in charge of the food shopping. Sometimes I trail in his wake with the trolley but, mostly, he goes it alone. He also does all the manly things like taking the bins out and shooing out spiders.

11.Have you ever smoked pot?How old were you the first time? Do you still enjoy?

No, I've never smoked anything.

12. If it is cold what do you wear in bed?

Neither Harry or I own any nightwear. On chilly nights, I snuggle up to my own personal hottie. When it's really cold I slumber blissfully under an electric duvet.

13. How old were you when you lost your virginity? Share any story you are comfortable with.

I was seventeen and had always thought I would wait till I was married. Then along came Harry......

14. Think of something you did as a kid which you were glad your parents never found out about. If you were a perfect child you may respond with "perfect"  but the rest of us may hate you for it.

No, sorry you will have to hate me.

15.Boob Question:
Think Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Do you think your boobs are
a, too big
b, too small
c, just right
d, all of the above is not a valid answer.

c, Until the mid life hormones kicked in, my boobs were like two peas on a bread board.
.

(Sorry Rosie I couldn't resist this pic ;)

Now they are nicely rounded but still small enough not to be saggy.

Thanks Ella for another great meme. Special thanks to Jan for making it possible for me to join in the fun

Ella's Winter Meme.

Hello every one. Hope you are all having a great week, and a super duper weekend follows.

I loved this one and decided to have a go.

1.You have to leave your house because of a disaster. All the people and pets you love are safe. If you could carry out just one thing what would it be?

I am very shallow..... My hairdryer!!!

2. Tell us about a book or series of books that you loved as a child.

As a little girl I was obsessed with reading. (Come to think of it I still am). My favourite author was Enid Blyton. I loved all her books, the Secret Seven, The Faraway Tree, Noddy, Mallory Towers. You name it I read it. My very favourite though were the Famous Five and this one in Particular

3.Name one item of clothing you love your spouse to wear.

This is the easiest question. When I was really poorly and back and forth to the hospital my husband came with me for every test, treatment , all of it. I always wanted him to wear this jumper. I  felt comforted snuggling up to him. This was over ten years ago and recently undergoing the same old stuff I have bought him a new identical one and bless him he just automatically wears it !

4. Name a lullaby your mum or dad sung to you that you sang to your children.

Blimey, this is a laughable question. my mum or dad, you have to be joking.
I sang everything to my boys though. I remember when the oldest was about 8 he sang an old Andrews Sisters hit "Don't sit under the Apple Tree with anyone else but Me" to his teacher. We had been reading his reading book and there was an apple tree... guess what I sung him to sleep with that night, lol . She made a point of telling me how amusing we were!!

5. Tell us about the fanciest restaurant you have eaten in.

Hard one, I am not that interested in the fancy stuff. We have eaten at the Oxo tower in London. Lots of lovely hotel restaurants. really I am just as happy in a  cosy country pub.

6.Tell us about any phobias you have. What else are you scared of?

At the risk of sounding bonkers. I am petrified of dogs, spiders, snakes, heights,  did  I say dogs,

7.Is there something old from a family member you treasure.

I have  gold and ruby ring that belonged to my beloved Nannie and a gold bracelet that has 12 gold coins on that was my lovely Grandma's.

8.If there is reading material in your bathroom, what magazines or books could be found there?

None, zilch, nada, not a thing.

9.Tell us about your dearest childhood friend.

I had a lovely friend I used to go to dance class with, she was very quiet and placid. We had an unforgettable first holiday away together in London. I loved her loads. We were each other's support group from a dodgy childhood.  She grew up and became a nurse. last I heard she went to Australia.

10.Is there a household task that belongs to your husband?

Not really, but I can't remember when I last changed a light bulb!

11.Have you ever smoked pot? How old were you when you the first time? Do you still enjoy?

Not  a chance. Never smoked anything actually. it all sounds disgusting. I wouldn't even know where to get pot from for a start. Is it that good?

12.If it is cold what do you wear in bed?

What ever else, I would have socks on and my electric blanket :)

13. How old were you when you lost your virginity? Share any story you fell comfortable with.

I was 21, on our engagement trip to Paris ;)

14.Think of something you did as a kid which you were glad your parents never found out about. If you were a perfect child you can say "perfect" but the rest of us will hate you for it.

I wasn't perfect I was too scared to do anything. As a child I was scared of everything and everyone!

15. Boob question!
Think Goldilocks and the three  Bears.
Do you think your boobs are
a. too big
b. too small
c.just right
d.all of the above is not a valid answer.

Okay then. This is my chance to be a c. A couple of years ago I had my 34 J cups reduced to a 34 D.  It cost an arm and a leg and they are the most perfect bit of me. No kidding. Guess who else loves them.

Great Meme Ella , Thank you..

love Jan,
