Home!

Hello everyone,

I am home from hospital, operation over, recovery has begun.

And so I just want to say a very big....

to all of you for your support, both on the blog and in the emails. I am grateful to everyone. I think it will be a while before I am on top form but I am on the mend.

I will get around to the March questions in a later post but for now I have one question for all of you.

How long does it take to recover from a hysterectomy?

After all I do have a newly retired husband to play with.........

Hope you all have a great March, I think I might just have a lazy one.

lots of love

                   Jan,
                       xxxx

  1. Woohoo, best news of the day!!! :) Jan, I am so happy and relieved that everything went well and you are on the mend. I don’t know how long recovery might possibly take, but I am glad that your husband has retired because he will be there and take care of you (thinking about some of the household too… :) ) and can give you all the extra cuddles and kisses that are good for you because you have to recover and just because. :)
I haven’t been in blogland over the last days, and missed that it is March-question month, but will be back for that. I love that you might have a lazy March, and seriously hope that you d o stick to that, after all they are doctor’s orders. Somehow I imagine that you’ll start being restless after a short while, but don’t start doing too much until you are really well enough (leave heavy laundry baskets to your husband for a while, pleeeeaase!). Wishing you a speedy recovery and a wonderful March full of love and being spoiled rotten in the best ways.

    hugs and love

  6. Very happy to hear you are home and recuperating! You will feel better again very quickly, but you mustn't start to tackle any big tasks indoors and outside for quite a while. Especially lifting. My doc said nothing heavier than a gallon of milk - 8 pounds. (Not sure what that would be in metric.) After a while I did finally sort through clothes in my closet to donate - lifting only one at a time. I also enjoyed baking some special treats for family and friends.

In the bedroom, I was certainly able to "play" without there being any penetration. Sam seemed happy enough! However, sex was my first question at the 6 week post-op visit!

Be a good girl and take care of yourself, Jan.

    Hugs Across the Pond,
    Ella

  7. Welcome home Jan! I missed seeing your daily posts/comments and had my fingers crossed you'd get back soon. I think as long as Mr. Retired takes care of you and keeps you from doing too much, the recovery will be speedy. Lay low and enjoy the time relaxing while you heal. My surgery is Wednesday; not as extreme but same parts. (Ugh.) I'll be down a week - wish we could hang out! Maybe we'll have a "virtual" hangout. So, so glad you are home!!!! Amy

  8. Oh Jan!!! :) SO GREAT to see you here posting, post-op! I do hope that you are feeling better hour by hour! I have soooo been thinking of you!

I agree with everyone above- take it easy, do as the doc says, and be a good girl! Be just like that cute little kitty in the bed and rest, rest, rest! You will heal up faster. I am sure that your spanky man will see to it that you do! There are things called "lists"! LOL!

So wonderful that John is in retirement. All the more reason to follow what they tell you. Great times ahead for you two each day now! Congratulations to John!

Feel good and only pop on when you are up to it, or need some bloggers tlc! Many hugs,

    <3 Katie

    1. Hi Katie, lovely comments. I am enjoying the whole get into bed thing whenever I feel like it. Today I told hubby what to wear that wouldn't need ironing when it is washed! He is a terrible ironer , bless him and I am just going to avoid it for the time being, lol

  15. Happy to hear everything went well, Jan! A lot of your recovery will depend on your body and restrictions will depend on your doctor. I had a longer recovery but my surgery got very complicated which, thank the good lord, yours didn't. Take it easy, don't rush and you will be in top form with lots of bedroom games soon! Sending prayers and healing energy.

    Hugs and blessings...Cat

  16. Good news Jan to hear everything went well. Don't rush your recovery and definitely don't go lifting anything too heavy. I can tell you from experience you can pop a hernia.
Congratulations John on your retirement. Just think of all the wonderful adventures you can get up to now together. Fun times!

Take care and let John and your family pamper you.

  18. Jan, I'm so glad you are home safe and sound. As for recovery, that depends on the individual. Just do as much as you are able. Ask your doctor for advice on attempting specific activities.
