Friends, Birthdays and Baby!

Hello everyone,

When we started on this ttwd malarkey almost four years ago I never imagined that along with all the fun and games and togetherness it has brought to our marriage, that this lifestyle would also lead me to new friendships and meetings with people I would never have otherwise had the chance to meet.

Last Friday however I took advantage of my oldest son's proximity to a fellow blogger and off I went during a visit to them, to meet Rosie.

She is as lovely in real life as she is on her blog, smart, funny, classy and very very nice. I had a lovely time, gosh it is amazing how time flies.

We drank coffee, browsed the shops, and talked and talked.

This meeting has whet both our appetites for more and we are both looking forward to September when we are going to London to meet up with Ella ( yes from America!), Ronnie, Ami, and DF.

Thanks for the fun time Rosie, and I hope today you have a very

                                                                  Happy Birthday!!

We were down to celebrate another Birthday too, our darling little Grand girl is one already.

Dil is poorly still and so for the second time in a couple of weeks grandbaby has come to stay by herself. Forgive me if I am not about Blogland much, it is exhausting, lol
She is walking and gabbling on, and pretty much non stop from the moment she opens her eyes in the morning till we all drop from exhaustion in the evening. I know one thing though

There is a certain member of the household who grants her every wish!  I know who is twisted around someone's little finger alright.  I am not getting a look in  round here, lol. Kudos to anyone who manages to live a ttwd lifestyle with kids about. We are too tired, when she goes to bed, we have barely got the energy for a hug let alone a spanking. I reckon I would fall asleep in the middle of it to be honest,  and after chasing her about all day my "in charge" husband is just grateful for a sit down....

Hope you all have a lovely week,

love Jan, xxxx

  1. Oh dear Jan, not good your DIL is still poorly. What wonderful grandparents stepping in to help. It's exhausting enough minding grandchildren for a couple of hours, let alone for days on end. You'll both need a good holiday to recover once things are back to normal. Sending positive healing vibes to your DIL for a speedy recovery.
How wonderful you meeting up with Rosie and obviously hitting it off so well. Sounds like you both had a really nice day, lucky ladies. It's amazing where the journey of TTWD takes us.

Happy birthday Rosie, hope you have an awesome day.

    Hugs Lindy

    1. Hi Lindy, I think she just needs not to lug grandbaby about for a few days! you are right, it's jolly hard work. I reckon all these ancient mums you read about in the papers must need their brains tested. I am long past it!
We had a great day, it would be super if we were all a bit nearer

  2. Hi Jan, I'm so glad you and Rosie were able to meet and that you had such a wonderful time together. Happy birthday Rosie! Hope you had a wonderful day :)

How awesome that you will be meeting up with more blog friends soon too, we want a full report lol. I would love to be able to meet the wonderful friends I have made in blogland. The friendships go far beyond our shared interest in ttwd.

Sorry to hear your DIL is poorly and hope she is feeling better soon.

    Hugs

  4. Hi Jan, oh how wonderful! I am happy that Rosie and you had such a lovely time together. And meeting the others will be so exciting and lots of fun. How awesome is that! :)
Oh my, time flies, doesn’t it? It’s been your grandbaby’s first birthday already. Lovely! Happy Birthday to her and to Rosie. Wishing both of you lots of love.
I am sorry that your DIL is not well yet, and hope she’ll be better soon. Nevertheless, it does sound like you are having such a terrific time with your little Grand girl, and I love that you have her with you for a while. :)

You are so right, ttwd are not always easy to do after the kind of day you had, and we manage part of it by sticking to Friday as the date when we do have maintenance, same time, always. :) Especially at the moment with me still being in exile, it is not always easy for me to get the head free, but usually hubby is able to help then by adding a few spanks. :) I like what you wrote about grandpas, and it is definitely true here as well. Wishing you and your husband a happy time with lots of energy for a lovely spanking, and a happy week.

    hugs and love

    1. Hello darling girl, I do not know how you do it with two littlies for sure. We are so worn out by the end of the day, a hug is just about manageable before we drop off!! We are definitely too old. When we took her back last time, I told her I wanted grandad back, so she had to go. As she has no idea what I was saying she just giggled and hey presto she is back again. I hope your girls are doing well and enjoying the summer sunshine. lots of love and hugs to the girls

We are amazed how quickly her first year has flown by. She is already walking and chattering on in her own way, can twist my hubby round her little finger too!

  6. So glad you were able to meet with Rosie and that next month meeting with all the gals, makes me wish I lived closer.
I remember chasing around after young grands and how tired I was at the end of the day. Enjoy it though, too soon they're too grown up.

    1. Hi Sunny, Oh I wish you were nearer too. Best you move over here if Donald Trump gets in!! I think it is the nights that wear me out the most, keep worrying about her when she is asleep!

  7. Hi Jan. When I first commented on your blog as anonymous Rosie, I never imagined for a moment that we would become online friends, let alone actually meet. It wasn't till I was on the bus home on Friday that I realised we'd been so busy chatting that we'd forgotten to have lunch! Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm sure that no-one who reads your blog will be in any doubt that the description you gave of me applies to you, in equal measure.
I'm sorry DIL is still poorly. If you get desperate you could try Ella's trick with the baby gate!
Thanks for the birthday wishes. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.
    Love, Rosie xx

  8. I am so very happy that you and Rosie have gotten to spend time together and I know you are going to love Ella and the other ladies!! I am very jealous. I'm also jealous of your grandmother status! I get to spend time with enough great nieces and nephew around that age to realize how exhausting it has to be and it make me want to tell my daughter to get on with it, before I get too old!

And a very happy birthday to Rosie!

  14. Sorry your DIL is still doing poorly, Jan but she's so lucky that you and hubby are in a position to help out with the baby. Not easy but raised two boys while living the ttwd lifestyle. ;)

Happy you and Rosie got to meet up...a bit on the envious side that you two got to meet and all y'all get to gather in September.

Sending prayers and healing energy for your DIL.
